"I Just Got a Camera...Now What?"

• This is class is for those just new to photography, who want to understand what all the settings and buttons on their digital camera mean. This is our most basic class, for the beginner who is just starting into digital photography.
• We will cover the settings, symbols, and features common to most digital cameras, just what is going on in the camera to make pictures, and what you can do to can get great results. Topics for this class include the anatomy of your camera and how it works, deciphering the meaning and purpose of all the settings and symbols, exposure basics, and what to do with the pictures once you take them including transferring, organizing, and printing them.
• This is a class designed specifically for beginners, if you already understand basic camera operation, you should probably consider one of our other classes such as "Fundamentals".
• This class is conducted in a classroom setting, there is not a field component.

Fundamentals

• In this class we explain the fundamentals of nature photography, this is a class for beginning nature photographers.
• We will cover things like Depth of Field (DoF), Apertures, Exposure, Light direction and color, rule of thirds, etc. We will also cover gear selection, an introduction to working with wildlife, introduction to scenic photography, and more.
• This class is conducted in a classroom setting, there is not a field component.

Advanced

• In this class we will cover more advanced concepts and techniques in nature photography.
• Topics include creating and processing HDR images, use of flash in nature photography, creative techniques like long exposures and light painting, video for nature photographers, etc. If you would like to learn more about these concepts, or feel you need a better understanding of them, this class is probably for you.
• We expect you will know a great deal already about exposure theory, camera settings, and operation prior to this class. If you don't, you may want to consider taking one of our introductory classes, such as "...Now What?!" or "Fundamentals".
• This class is conducted in a classroom setting, there is not a field component.

In the Field

• In this class we will cover field techniques in nature photography. This course is a intermediate to advanced hands-on, in-field workshop, there is no classroom time.
• The emphasis in this class is fieldcraft and working with the natural world as a photographer. We will explore intermediate to advanced concepts such as approaching and photographing wildlife, ethics in outdoor photography, light and the scenic landscape, etc.
• We expect you will know a great deal already about exposure theory, camera settings, and operation prior to this class. If you don't, you may want to consider taking one of our introductory classes, such as "...Now What?!" or "Fundamentals".
• These classes are smaller, with a 12 to 1 student to instructor ratio, with all the class time being spent in the field.

Digital Darkroom

• Our digital darkroom class reveals our process for getting the best results for all the great pictures you take, using Photoshop and Lightroom. Jason covers his complete workflow from organization to preparing files for print, stock, or the web, unveiling tips and techniques to make your workflow smooth and easy, and to get you away from the computer and back out in the field!
• Topics include a through overview of using Lightroom to organize and develop your images. We cover our basic workflow, as well as more advanced concpets such as assembling HDR's and stitched panoramic photos. We explore in depth Lightroom's Develop features, how they differ from Photoshop, and when to use one program over the other.
• If you would like to learn more about these concepts, or feel you need a better understanding of them, this class is probably for you.
• This class is conducted in a classroom setting, there is not a field component.
