August 6-11, 2010 - Lake Clark National Park, Alaska
ALL INCLUSIVE!
You get there, we take care of the rest!
The parkland surrounding the lodge is home to Alaskan Brown and Black Bears and is regarded as some of the best bear viewing in the state. We will photograph these amazing animals in their natural habitat, as they feast on spawning salmon and tend to their cubs. Our workshop is scheduled for the peak of the spawn, when thousands of brilliantly colored Sockeye Salmon school in shallow pools along the shoreline, leading to an absolute feeding frenzy among the bears. We'll photograph the grizzly bears as they educate their young, confront other bears, and pack on the pounds in preparation for winter. A huge variety of other wildlife calls this area home as well, including eagles, swans, beavers, otters, kingfishers, mergansers, harlequins, pipers and much more.
We will also have ample opportunities to photograph the unspoiled beauty of the Alaskan landscape The lodge provides access to some of the most beautiful scenery Alaska has to offer. Located on the glacier-fed waters of Crescent Lake in the heart of the Chigmit Mountains in the Northern Aleutian Range, the lodge is named for the 10,197-ft peak, Redoubt Volcano, in clear view only 8 miles away. August provides colorful hillsides of fireweed and wildflowers in full bloom as well as wild blueberry patches ripe for picking.
The only lodge and privately owned property within a 25-mile radius, this workshop offers an incredible opportunity to explore the Alaskan wilderness and photograph wildlife and scenery rarely seen by others. Join us for this one of a kind Alaskan adventure!
